This policy explains what happens to your information when you visit baysfield.com, operated by Baysfield Claims Managers LLC.
This policy covers this website only. It does not describe how we handle information in the course of the services we provide, or under any agreement we have with you. Those are dealt with separately.
What we collect
Information you give us. This website has more than one form, and they work differently. Here is each of them and exactly what it asks for:
- Contact form (/contact/) — asks for: Name, Email address, Phone number, Message. Your message is sent to us by email.
- Loss report form (/report-a-claim/) — this is a form hosted by Google (Google Forms), displayed inside our page. It asks for: the name, address, telephone number, date of birth and age of the people involved, vehicle details including VIN and license plate, police report and citation details, a description of what happened, and, where someone was hurt, a description of the injury. When you use it your answers go to Google (Google Forms) and are stored in Google’s systems on our behalf — they do not pass through this website. Google’s handling of that information is governed by its own privacy policy. What we then do with what you send is part of our services, not part of this website, and is not described here.
Our contact form (/contact/) is for general inquiries. Please do not use it to send Social Security numbers, financial account numbers, medical records, or claim documents. If you need to report an incident or send us claim material, use the form intended for that, or contact your representative directly.
Information collected automatically. Our host and our security provider automatically record standard technical information about every request to this site — the IP address it came from, the browser and device, the page requested, the page you came from, and the date and time — in server and security logs used to run the site, prevent abuse, and diagnose faults. We do not use Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager, or advertising pixels. Our security and delivery provider does run a cookie-free page-performance measurement that reports aggregate figures such as page views and load times; it does not use cookies and does not follow you to other websites. We do not use this to build a profile of you, and we do not combine it with what you send us through the form.
Why we use it
- To read and reply to what you sent us.
- To keep the website secure and to block spam and automated abuse.
- To keep the website working and diagnose faults.
- To meet our legal and record-keeping obligations.
We do not sell your information
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information, and we do not share it with anyone for their own advertising or marketing.
Who else handles it
- Our website host. The company that runs the server this website sits on, which necessarily processes traffic to it.
- Our network security and content-delivery provider (Cloudflare). Sits in front of the website to keep it fast and to filter malicious traffic. It processes your IP address to do that.
- Our email provider. Carries the message from the website to our inbox.
- Google (reCAPTCHA). Checks that form submissions come from a person rather than a bot. Google receives your IP address and information about how you interact with the page, and uses it under its own privacy policy.
- If the law requires it. We may disclose information where we are legally obliged to, or to protect our rights or the safety of others.
Cookies
Our use of cookies, and of content embedded from other companies, is described in our Cookie Policy.
Do Not Track
Some browsers send a “Do Not Track” or a “Global Privacy Control” signal. This website does not advertise, and it does not monitor your activity over time or across other websites, so there is nothing on this site for either signal to switch off.
Do other companies track you across websites through this site?
We do not use advertising networks, social-media pixels, or cross-site tracking tools on this website, and we do not allow them. However, our pages include typefaces hosted by Google, Google’s reCAPTCHA anti-spam check. When your browser loads that content it connects to Google directly, and Google receives your IP address, your browser type, and the address of the page you are viewing. Google runs services across many websites and we do not control what it does with that information; its practices are described at policies.google.com/privacy. Apart from that, no other party collects personally identifiable information about your online activities over time or across different websites through this site.
How long we keep it
We keep messages sent through this website for as long as we need them to answer your question and to keep a reasonable record of the contact, and then we delete them, unless we are required to keep them for longer. Server and security logs are kept for a short period by our host and our security provider under their own retention schedules.
How we protect your information
We take reasonable steps to protect what you send us, including serving this website over an encrypted (HTTPS) connection and limiting access to form messages to the people who need them to answer you. No website or email system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee that information sent over the internet will never be intercepted.
Asking about, correcting, or deleting your information
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to ask what personal information we hold about you, to ask us to correct it, or to ask us to delete it.
To make a request, use our Contact page and begin your message with the words “Privacy request” or write to us at San Diego, California (offices in Oregon, Washington, Missouri and Tennessee). So that we can find your information and be sure we do not hand it to the wrong person, tell us the email address or telephone number you used when you contacted us. We may ask for more information to confirm who you are, and we may decline a request we cannot verify. We will respond within a reasonable time and as applicable law requires, and we will not treat you differently for asking.
If you ask us to delete something you sent us, we will delete it, unless we are required to keep it, and a copy may remain in routine backups for a limited period before it is overwritten. Where you used a form hosted by another company, that company also holds what you submitted, under its own policy.
Children
This website is intended for adults. It is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware that someone under 13 has sent us personal information through this website, we will delete it. If you believe a child under 13 has given us personal information, please tell us through our Contact page.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy. When we make a material change we will post the updated policy on this page and change the effective date at the top, and the version on this page is always the current one. Please check back from time to time.
